I was in a class today and the teacher and I started to discuss energy conservation and such. She told me about this website called Huffington Post. So I checked it out and came across this really cool article about Energy Generating Pavement. Designed by Laurence Kemball-Cook, these sidewalk squares store kinetic energy that is created by a single foot step. The energy that is gathered is stored within lithium polymer batteries or distributed to nearby lights. These squares have been placed for testing throughout East London, and will be distributed throughout the UK in 2010. Pavegen's goal is to reach across to the most trafficked places around the world.
Please click here and check out the article, it's really amazing!
TIP OF THE WEEK IS: Tips for any COLLEGE kids!
College Reuse: Dump and Run is a nonprofit organization that organizes the collection of college students' castoff items in the spring, so they can be sold to incoming students in the fall. The proceeds are then donated to nonprofits.
